Choosing a furniture manufacturer in Bhavnagar? Check these 8 things first: material, hardware, factory, drawings, warranty and who installs it.
Bhavnagar has no shortage of furniture shops, local carpenters and showrooms selling ready-made pieces. But a kitchen, a wardrobe or a bed is something you live with for 10 to 15 years, so who makes it matters more than where you buy it. Here is the checklist we share with every customer. Use it with us, or with anyone else you are comparing.
1. Do they actually manufacture, or only resell?
Many furniture shops are resellers. They sell boxed pieces made somewhere else, or pass your order on to an outside workshop. A real manufacturer designs and builds in its own factory, so it can tell you exactly who will cut, edge and assemble your furniture, and you can go and see it being made.
Ask one simple question: "Can I visit your workshop?" A manufacturer will happily show you the machines, the materials and orders in progress.
At Bosk, every kitchen, wardrobe, bed and TV unit is built in our own factory in Bhavnagar. We are a furniture maker, not a reseller. See what we make in Bhavnagar.
2. What is the core material?
The board inside your furniture decides how long it lasts. Particle board and MDF are cheaper, but they can swell and sag when they absorb moisture, which is a real risk in coastal Gujarat's humid monsoon. Plywood is stronger and holds screws better, and marine-grade plywood (IS:710) resists moisture best.
- Ask for the exact grade to be written on the quote: MR, BWR/BWP or IS:710 marine.
- Ask to see the IS marking printed on the sheet.
- Only compare two quotes when the material is the same.

3. Which hardware brand?
Hinges, drawer runners and lift-up fittings are the parts you touch every day. Unbranded hardware is one of the easiest ways to cut costs, and it is usually the first thing to fail: shutters drop out of line, drawers stick and soft-close stops working.
Ask for the brand and the product line in writing. We fit Hettich hardware, which comes with Hettich's own functional warranty of up to 20 years on many hinges and drawer systems. You can check every product line in our hardware warranty table.
4. Machine-made or hand-cut on site?
Traditional carpentry cuts boards by hand inside your home over several weeks, with dust, noise and uneven edges. Factory-made modular furniture is cut on panel-processing machines, edge-banded by machine and pre-drilled for the hardware, so joints are square, edges are sealed against moisture and every piece fits precisely.
It also means far less disruption at home. Because Bosk furniture is built in the factory, installation on site typically takes just 2 to 4 days.
5. Will you see drawings before production?
Custom furniture should never be built from a verbal description. Ask whether you will get measured drawings showing sizes, the internal layout, shutters, handles and finishes, and whether you can change them before production starts.
At Bosk, nothing goes into production until you approve the final design. Our How We Work page explains each step, from the first enquiry to installation.
6. Is the quote itemised?
A single lump-sum price makes it impossible to compare offers. A good quote lists each unit with its material, finish and hardware, plus any delivery or installation charges. If one quote is much cheaper than the others, check what is missing. Often it is the hardware brand, the edge banding or the internal accessories.
7. What warranty do you get, in writing?
Ask what is covered, for how long, and what is not covered. Bosk modular furniture carries a flat 7-year warranty against manufacturing and material defects, and the Hettich hardware carries the manufacturer's own warranty on top. Read the full warranty terms before you decide, whoever you buy from.
8. Who installs it, and who comes back later?
Installation matters as much as manufacturing. Ask whether the maker's own team installs the furniture or whether the job is handed to a sub-contractor. Also ask who to call if a shutter needs aligning a few weeks later: new furniture can settle slightly, and a small adjustment should be easy to arrange. Our in-house team installs every order and also handles after-care and adjustments.

Frequently asked questions
Is it cheaper to buy from a manufacturer than from a furniture shop?
Often, yes, because buying directly from the maker removes the reseller's margin. More importantly, you choose the material, the size and the hardware yourself instead of accepting whatever is in stock.
How do I check that plywood is genuine marine grade?
Look for the IS:710 marking printed on the sheet, and ask for the grade to be written on your quote and invoice.
How long does custom furniture take?
It depends on the size of the order, and the lead time is given in your quote. Once the furniture is ready, installation at your home typically takes 2 to 4 days.
Do you make furniture for offices and hotels as well as homes?
Yes. Along with homes we build office furniture and hospitality interiors, for example our Sukasha Hotel guestroom project.
